Programme
The meeting is held in Reykjavík 18-20 June 2018 and is a 2.5 days of science and an afternoon excursion (Tuesday afternoon).

The scientific programme is now available
The presentations are 12 minutes + 3 minutes for questions, except for the keynotes, those are 25 minutes + 5 minutes for questions.
Most session will start with an invited key note presentation. The following speakers have graciously accepted our invitation:
- Andrea Vajda (FMI, Finland): Extreme weather in Northern Europe
- Ewan O’Connor (FMI, Finland) – Remote sensing systems and new data sources
- Ingibjörg Jónsdóttir (University of Iceland, Iceland) – Remote sensing of sea ice
- Marko Laine (FMI, Finland): Probability forecasts
- Patrick Samuelsson (SMHI, Sweden) – Surface processes
- Pererik Åberg (SVT, Sweden) – Communication of forecast and meteorological information
- Øyvind Byrkjedal (Kjeller Vindteknikk, Norway) – Meteorological and climate information for the energy sector
Social programme
On Monday evening there will be an icebreaker at the head quarters of the Icelandic Meteorological Office, Bústaðavegi 7, Reykjavík. For those interested it will be possible to visit the monitoring room where weather forecasters and natural hazard specialists work.
The afternoon to evening excursion on Tuesday is planned to Borgarfjörður, just north of Reykjavík. Note that the date of the excursion might change if there are significant changes in weather.
The conference dinner will be at Landnámssetur Íslands (The settlement centre) in Borgarnes, W-Iceland, on the way back. The set menu can be found under Downloads. Please contact us if you have dietarian requirements we should know of.
